— Vye Irene (Peper) Speitel, 80, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, at her daughter’s home.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1930, in Lebanon, to Owen O. and Ruby (Shepherd) Peper. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School.
She moved to Ohio in 1962, where her interests included flowers, gardening, traveling and the Detroit Tigers.
She married Morris Franklin Speitel Jr. on Oct. 27, 1957, in Boone County; he preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1995.
Survivors include two daughters, Delilah (Larry) Speitel-Steiner of Ashland and Kay (Kevin) Pocock of Bellevue, Ohio; siblings, Mary (Harold) Jockish of Greenwood and Oliver Lee Peper of Indianapolis; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Monday, July 26, at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Frankfort.
