John Pipes

Greencastle — John Pipes, 73, of Greencastle, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on June 7, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the now late William H. and N. Francis Crosby Pipes.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Groveland and Cluster Buster Hot Rod Club.

He was a supervisor at Allison’s, retiring after 30 years of service.

John’s love was hot rod cars. He spent his entire retirement building and showing his hot rods. His cars were in many calendars and magazines.

Surviving are companion Terry Snodgrass; sisters Marilyn (Buster) Rogers of Brownsburg, and Janet (Bill) Jones of Greencastle, and brother Jack (Peggy) Pipes of Continental, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Porter Funeral Home, with Harlan Kincade officiating.

Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
