Mrs. Dorothy F. Johnson, 85, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in her home.
She was born in Boone County on March 3, 1925, the daughter of James Otis and Valla (Conner) Long.
Mrs. Johnson first married James R. Chesterson, and after his death she married Gerald Johnson in 1983 in Crawfordsville.
She attended schools in Wyoming and was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School. She retired as the co-owner of Morgan & Chesterson Gravel Co. and was a lifelong member of the VFW Post No. 1431 Auxiliary.
Survivors include daughters Tona Gulnn of Crawfordsville and Donna (husband Gary) Hockett of Waveland; sister Donna (husband Ralph) Shumate, Lebanon; grandchildren James Gulnn, Joseph Gulnn, Jason Gulnn, Carri Wilhite and Chad Hockett; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Chesterson, Johnson, longtime companion John Ames, and brothers Wilbert Long, William Long and Darol Long.
Family will greet friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Ranard officiating.
Mrs. Johnson will be cremated.
