Thomas Voris Hastings, 62, formerly of Lebanon, died Dec. 28, 2012, peacefully after a long battle with cancer at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu.
Tom, son of Gordon Roy and Elizabeth (Voris) Hastings, graduated from Lebanon High School in 1968, after which he joined the U.S. Navy and later settled in Hawaii. He joined the Merchant Marines as a diesel mechanic, and he enjoyed sailing as a hobby.
He is survived by his son, Mark Thomas Hastings of California, and his sister Leah (Hastings) Shanaha of Brownsburg.
Per his request, his remains will be created and his ashes scattered at sea.
