Local veterinarian, Mark A. Cunningham, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 5, 2013, at the St. Vincents Hospice in Indianapolis.
Mark Alan Cunningham was born March 18, 1956, in Anna Arundel County, Ft. Meade, Maryland; the son of John T. “Tom” and Julia “Judy” B. (Corbly) Cunningham.
Mark graduated from Lebanon High School in 1974, Purdue University in 1978 and Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.
Dr. Mark started his practice in Seymour, with Drs. Sunbury and Brown. In 1991 he opened his own practice in Lebanon, the All Animals Veterinary Clinic. His daughter, Dr. Devin Kistler, joined him in June of 2011.
He married Beverly Ann Bergh on Aug. 2, 1980, in Lebanon. Mark was the proud father of three children, Dr. Devin (Kevin) Kistler of Lebanon, Mallory Cunningham of Lafayette and Chase Cunningham of Lebanon.
He is survived by his wife; children; parents; sister, Marcia C. (Alan) Wilhoite of Lebanon; granddaughter, Kora Ann Kistler of Lebanon; in-laws, Orville and Else Bergh of Lebanon; two nephews and two nieces.
Dr. Mark was a 10 year 4-H member and continued to be actively involved in 4-H and currently was co-chair of the Supreme Showmanship Contest. He loved cooking, traveling, playing bridge, vacationing in Florida, attending cattle shows and taking care of his cattle.
His memberships included Centenary United Methodist Church, AVMA, IVMA and recently retired from the Boone County Health Board.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 2 until 8 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with a memorial service at 6 p.m.
