Mr. Greg Devon Cook, 21, of Jamestown, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.
Greg was born July 17, 1991, in Indianapolis, the son of Russ and Mary Beth (Cooney) Shoaf and the now late Joe Devon Cook. A lifelong resident of Boone County, Greg graduated from Western Boone High School with the class of 2010. He attended the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima.
From the age of 14, Greg worked as a mechanic for Wilburn Collision in Jamestown.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the lake. Greg was a gear head and Ford fan. He also enjoyed riding his dirt bike.
Survivors include parents, Mary Beth (Russ) Shoaf of Jamestown; grandparents, Ed Cooney, Eva (Jim) Edwards and Jean Cook, all of Lebanon, Mr. and Mrs. Denis Rance of Jennings, Fla., and Carolyn Shoaf of Indianapolis; brothers, Keith N. (fiancée, Tina Chavez) Shoaf of Fishers and Brian N. (Colleen) Shoaf of San Diego, Calif.; uncles, Rex (Sheri) Cook and Eric (Jeannette) Cook, all of Lebanon, Willy (Dana) Shoaf of Lizton, and Larry Parsley of Indianapolis; aunts, Michelle L. (Steve) Standeford of Martinsville, Lisa K. Batts of Lebanon, Delana R. (Teddie) Bennington of Jamestown, Becky Cook of Lebanon and Paula (Todd) Stierwalt of Mooresville; nieces, Ariah and Hailey; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Cline Cook and Morris N. Shoaf; two uncles, Gregory E. Cook and Jack Cook; and an aunt, Nancy (Shoaf) Parsley.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., in Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Boone County.
