William ‘Bill’ Lancaster

Indianapolis — William “Bill” Lancaster, 70, Indianapolis, a former Lebanon resident, died July 27, 2012, at Miller Merry Manor, Indianapolis.

He was born July 25, 1942 in Lebanon, son of the now late Chester and Mary Layton Lancaster. He married Katherine Doyle in 1963; they divorced in 1976.

Mr. Lancaster graduated from Dover High School in 1960 and worked for Link Bolt in Indianapolis of a number of years, retiring in 1993. He then worked for the city of Lebanon as a meter reader for a while, and worked for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a number of years.

Survivors include a brother, Richard Lancaster of Lebanon, and companion, Kelley Phillips of Indianapolis.

Graveside rites will be conducted by the Rev. Gene Johnson at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 223 N. Meridian St., Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
