Alice Irene Artman

Alice Irene Artman, 88 of Whitestown, passed away Monday, August 13 at Parkwood Health Care in Lebanon.  Alice was born January 13, 1924 in White County to Charles and Bessie (Camp) Deckard.  She graduated from the Linden High School in 1942.  On July 24, 1942 she married John Artman and together they celebrate 70 years of marriage. Alice worked with her husband on their family farm for many years.   Alice was a charter member of the Northfield Community Church and the Lebanon Senior Citizens.  She is survived by her two sons William (Judith) Artman of Whitestown and Gary (Peggy) Artman of Lebanon; daughter-in-law Debbie Artman of Gainsville, Georgia; grandchildren Tina McMahon, Tara Ziegler, John (Amanda) Artman, Cheryl Artman, Penny Cain, Kelly (Gerry) Barnes, William Troy (Debbie) Artman, Jeremy (Beth) Rafter, Chris (Samantha) Artman, Nathan (Michelle) Artman, Aaron (Alicia) Artman and Casey Artman;  20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; one sister and son Phillip Dean Artman.  Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, August 15 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 16 in the mortuary with the Rev.
