Ennis J. Pennington

Ennis J. Pennington, 67, of Jamestown, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at his residence.

Ennis was born July 29, 1945, in Lizton, son of the now late Jesse and Flora Allen Pennington.

He was a member of Jamestown American Legion and the Teamsters Local 716.

Ennis loved classic cars. He was especially proud of the 1932 Ford Coupe Five Window that he built. He was an avid race car fan and enjoyed fishing, as well as spending time with family and friends.

He retired from Underwood Machinery in 2009 after 30 years, where he was a truck driver and rigger.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Politte Pennington; daughter, Tina Pennington of Jamestown; grandson, Chris (Katie) Pennington of Brownsburg; stepchildren, Kelly (Vernee) Eads of McCordsville, Melissa Luebbert of Avon, Shelly (Dr. Adam) Wineinger of Kansas City, Mo., and Marsha (Bob) Sansoucie, Chris (Angie) Miller, Andy (Jen Castle) Miller and Kenneth Miller, all of Potosi, Mo.; stepgrandchildren, Addison and Meridan Eads, Eli Hoopengarner, Grady Luebbert, Madison Miller, Gabriella Miller, David Miller, Edith (John) Cooper and Bobby (Raechel) Sansoucie; siblings, Frank (Angela) Pennington, Arvil (Phyllis) Pennington, Charlie (Peggy) Pennington and Tom (Roxanne) Pennington; sisters, Artilla (Paul) Williams, Marcella (Verlin) Luckey and Fern (Steve) Baringer; in-laws, Virgie (Dale) Welker, Annie (Dave) Fenstermaker, Clarice (Dave) Buckley, Herman Politte and Gary Politte; and former wife, Marie (Barthalow) Marburger.

He was preceded in death by brother, Alvin (Vrena) Pennington; sister, Uzella (Jim) Neitzel; and former wife, Carol Foster Pennington.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Roger Popplewell officiating. Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
