Alice M. Moore, 95, of Westfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at her home.
Alice was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Pulaski County, the daughter of James and Lilly (Williams) Gamble. Both parents preceded her in death. She was a 1935 graduate of Westfield High School.
She married Paul S. Moore in 1940. Mr. Moore died on march 28, 1985.
Alice was an avid gardener, who loved growing flowers. She was also an animal lover, always with her dog by her side. She was a homemaker and assisted her late husband with farming.
She worked at Aero Drapery for several years as a seamstress. She was extremely devoted to her family. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and all of the practical jokes she played on her husband and the rest of the family.
Alice was a member of the Big Springs Community Church, and attended the Eagle Creek Friends Church in recent years. She was also a member of the Union Township Homemakers Extension in Boone County
Survivors include three sons, Stephen A. Moore of Sheridan, and Wayne G. (Dawn) Moore and Charles M. Moore, all of Westfield; daughter, Kathleen (Roy) Flannary of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Stephen Moore of Indianapolis, Marie Delgado of Sheridan, Sonya Shoup of Michigantown, Shawn Flannary of Greentown, Seth Flannary of Lebanon, Jon Moore of Fort Wayne, Adam Moore of Elwood, Paul Moore of Lebanon and Kevin Moore of Fishers; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Gamble and George Gamble; sister, Addrenna Bridgewater-Gamble; her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today, Aug. 3, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Interment will be at the Wright-Bethel Cemetery, Waugh.
