Mrs. Catherine Wallace Davis Anderson, of the Lawrence community in Indianapolis, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Anderson was born at home near Whitestown, on Aug. 24, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Georgia (Martin) Wallace. She was reared and educated in Whitestown, where she was a 1943 graduate of Whitestown High School.
Her first marriage was to Max R. Davis, and they divorced. She married William Vernon Anderson on Feb. 28, 1969, in Boone County. Mr. Anderson died July 2, 1976.
Mrs. Anderson was a 25-year employee of Western Electric in Indianapolis, from which she retired in 1985.
She cherished her family and friends. She was an avid bowler and belonged to the Women’s Mixed Senior League in Indianapolis. She was a booster club member of Special Olympics, and she also was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers.
Survivors include one son, Eric Lee Davis of Indianapolis; aunt, Geraldine Ballard of Rockville; and a number of cousins.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor David Wright officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to Special Olympics.
