Barbara S. Smith, 68, of Jamestown, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Witham Hospital in Lebanon.
She was born Aug. 21, 1944, in Louisville, Ky., daughter of the late Almon Mason and Florence Mae (Osborne) Perry.
Barbara married William “Bill” Smith on Aug. 2, 1963. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Jamestown Christian Church and was a volunteer at the Giving Tree in Jamestown. She loved to line dance.
Barbara worked at the New Albany High School cafeteria and more recently worked as an assistant manager at the Jamestown IGA.
Surviving are daughter, Tina (Lynn) Lear of Jamestown; sons, David (Kathy) Smith of Lebanon and Matt (Angela) Smith of Newtown, Ind.; brothers, William (Minnie) Perry, Ernest (Barbara) Perry, Mason (Diane) Perry, Jerry (Tammy) Perry and Terry Perry; sisters, Evelyn Brown, Thelma Ruth Higdon and Pam (Charlie) Pollard; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Perry; sister, Joyce Ann Walters; and daughter-in-law, Stefeny Smith.
Friends and family will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Jamestown Christian Church, 75 W. Jefferson St., Jamestown, with the Rev. Larry Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
