Judith Ann (Ziegler) “Judy” Cooper

Judith Ann (Ziegler) “Judy” Cooper, longtime Zionsville resident, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.

Judy was born March 12, 1941, to Carl R. and Annamae (Schroer) Ziegler in Indianapolis. She graduated as valedictorian from Manual High School, and received a B.A. Phi Beta Kappa in education from Butler University. She received her Masters of Education from George Washington University.

She was a member of Christ Church of Zionsville.

Judy married Dr. Daniel F. Cooper on Aug. 19, 1962. Judy and Daniel shared 50 fantastic years together. She cared so much for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a selfless servant to her family and church, and will live on in our hearts.

Survivors include her loving husband, Daniel; her children, Bradley (Leslee), Carrie (Mike), Jason (Holly), Barrett (Daiva), Meredith (P.J.), and Carter (Erica); 13 grandchildren; and her sister, Carole Marie (Ron) Browning.

Judy has been reunited in heaven with her daughter, Leah Carleen, who preceded her in death in 2008.

She will be greatly missed not only by her family, but also by the many friends who love her and all those whose lives she touched in so many ways.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 14, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Christ Church, The Lutheran Church of Zionsville, 600 Ford Road, Zionsville. A service celebrating Judy’s life and faith will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leah Cooper McMillan Memorial Fund, c/o the Community Foundation of Boone County, P.O. Box 92, Zionsville, IN 46077, to support softball scholarships at Zionsville Community High School.
