Richard Guy Turpin, 76, of Brownsburg, died Thursday, March 9, 2006.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and owned and operated Turpin Hardware for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He had also worked for Western Electric for 20 years, and served on the Hendricks County Council for 22 years.

He was a member of Brownsburg Masonic Lodge (50 years), Brownsburg American Legion Post 331, Indianapolis, Scottish Rite, Murat Temple Shrine and Brownsburg Eastern Star.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Loraine Turpin; children Lori Ann Turpin, Nancy L. Marsh and husband Wayne, Richard E. Turpin and wife Melissa and Samuel R. Turpin; sister and brother-in-law Sue and Ned Goodman; grandchildren Leslie Waters, Staci Syester, Alison Turpin and Matthew Turpin; and three great-grandchildren. His parents, John and Velma Turpin, are deceased.

Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Matthews Mortuary, 690 E. 56th St., Brownsburg. Services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
