Richard Rex “Dick” Ford

Richard Rex “Dick” Ford, 71, Lebanon, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Ford was born in Lebanon on Oct. 11, 1936, the son of the late Emory and Sarah (Ray) Ford.

He was married to Pauline Rose (Bregg) Ford, on August 6, 1955, in Lebanon. Mrs. Ford died on March 2, 2000.

Mr. Ford was reared and educated in the Advance Community and was a 1954 graduate of Lebanon High School.

He attended Pikes Peak Community College from 1973 to 1974. He resided in Colorado Springs, Colo., from1972 until 1982, when returned to Indiana to reside in Crawfordsville. Since 2004 he had lived in Lebanon.

Mr. Ford worked in banking in Indianapolis for American Fletcher National Bank and in Sheridan at American State Bank. When the Ford family moved to Colorado Springs, he and Mrs. Ford owned and operated Peak Doll Enterprises.

They returned to reside in Crawfordsville, where he worked as a finance manager in auto dealerships there.

He then entered the field of Residential Real Estate and worked the past fifteen years as an agent.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He enjoyed his family, sports and working as a volunteer at sporting events.

Survivors include three children, Michael G. Ford and wife, Jana, of Colorado Springs, Melinda G. Pollock and husband, James, of Russellville, and Lori S. Ford of Avon; special friend, Frances A. McElwee of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Kristofer A. Ford and wife, Jamie, of Avon, Katrina L. Miller and husband, Jeffrey, of Rockville, Timothy M., Ian T. and Chaynee Ford, all of Colorado Springs, Sarah C. and Jessica L. McElvoy, both of Russellville, and Kylee M. and Nicholas J. Pollock, both of Russellville; and three great grandchildren, Hailey and Aaron Ford and Charles Miller.

Preceding Mr. Ford in Death are a son, Martin Ford; two brothers, Verlin and Meredith Ford; and two sisters, Freida Lane and Leona Youngs.

Visitation will be Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Advance Community Church. Funeral services will be held at p.m. on Saturday at the Advance Community Church, in Advance, the Rev. Mike Whitaker, officiating. Interment will follow at the Pisgah Cemetery in Montgomery County.

Myers Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements.
