Stanley “Stan” Groover, 77, of Millersville, Md., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1934, in Lebanon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1956 and a Master of Science degree from San Jose State College in 1962.
Stan worked for the Raytheon Company, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed attending antique shows, visiting flea markets and grand prix racing.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Groover; two daughters, Valerie (Kevin) McMenamin of Annapolis, Md., and Kimberly (Brian) Hughes of Palm City, Fla.; two grandsons, Drew and Sean McMenamin; and two granddaughters, Lindsay and Caroline Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rozella Groover, and one brother, David Groover.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, Md. Interment will be at a private service.
