Marjorie L. Martin

Marjorie L. Martin, of Thorntown, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Marjorie was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Marion County, daughter of the now late Ralph and Georgia Faye (Farlow) Davidson. She lived in Boone County for most of her life.

She married Lora B. Martin on Jan 1, 1940, in Thorntown. Lora died Aug. 22, 1999.

Marjorie was very devoted to her family. Her hobbies included crocheting, working with flowers and cooking for her family.

She was a member of Walnut Grove Church in Boone County.

Survivors include sons, Fred (Pat) Martin of Thorntown, Dave (companion, Yvonne) Martin of Colfax, Roger (Bev) Martin of Thorntown, Steve Martin of Lebanon, and Joe (Diane) Martin and Kevin Martin, all of Thorntown; daughters, Karen Martin, Kim Clark and Kathy (Jerry) Purdue, all of Thorntown, and Pat (Robert) Dean of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Martin, and daughter, Shirley Hankins.

Graveside rites will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Thorntown, with the Rev. Bud Moody officiating.

Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 223 N. Meridian St., Lebanon, is handling arrangements.
