Vicky D. (Alford) Fisher

Vicky D. (Alford) Fisher, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013.

Vicky was born Oct. 20, 1949, in Indianapolis, to John O. and Mildred L. Alford. She was preceded in death by her father, John Alford.

She married Terry K. Fisher in August of 1969, and he survives. Also surviving are son, Bryan K. (Theresa) Fisher; daughter, Gretchen A. Fisher; two cherished grandchildren, Aidan Quinn Fisher and Cora Rose Fisher; her mother, Mildred L. (Nunn) Alford; sisters, Donna L. (Steven) Holloway of Avon, Sarah L. (Ralph) Isenhower of Mechanicsburg and Susan G. (Howard) Cundiff of Lebanon; brother, Michael O. Alford of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Barbara Ellen Randall of Thorntown. Also surviving are her dear-to-heart uncle, Linal (Buck) Alford of Indianapolis; and with special thoughts to, a group of twins, triplets, cousins, nieces, nephews and second cousins.

Vicky retired from Defense Finance and Accounting Service in July of 2011. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. There was nothing more that Vicky enjoyed than having cookouts for family and friends.  She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, shopping and traveling to visit family.

Special thanks go out from the family to an amazing group of women who helped her through these times at the Simon Cancer Center of IU, Dr. Romnee Clark, Beth Eyeadon, Whitney Misch, Nancy Kozman, Lisa Parks and Wendy Heck. Thank you all for your amazing care and consideration.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 12, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 6950 E. 46th, Indianapolis. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens at 1 p.m. today.
