Linda Kay Corwin


Linda Kay Corwin, 68, of Lafayette, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at her residence.

She was born May 29, 1941, in Thorntown. She was a daughter of the late Abner and Charlotte Johnson Riley.

Linda graduated from Thorntown High School in 1959.

She married Thomas E. Corwin Sr. on Nov. 15, 1986; he survives.

Linda had worked at the garment factory in Thorntown, Central Lab and Essex Wire. She also worked as a cashier and was a waitress at Sarge Biltz.

She enjoyed decorating cakes, crocheting, playing bingo, attending yard sales and spending time with her family.

Surviving along with her husband are two daughters, Teresa Dye Wilson (companion Charlie Homan) of Otterbein and Beverly Dye Turner of Lafayette; two sons, Wayne Dye (wife Kristy) of Lafayette and Tom Corwin Jr. (wife Chris) of Oxford; two stepdaughters, Mary Sue Turner (husband Bill) of Lafayette and Jan Ewalt (husband Don) of San Antonio, Texas; and a sister, Rosemary Strong of Lebanon. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Darrell Shubrick.

Linda was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Shubrick; a granddaughter, Kelsey Corwin; a sister, Beverly Stockton; and two brothers, Abner Junior Riley and Russell Riley.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Soller-Baker, with the Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
