Judy A. Martin

Mrs. Judy A. Martin, 58, of Colfax, formerly of Thorntown, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at home.

Mrs. Martin was born Feb. 18, 1951, in Lebanon, one of 16 children of the late Samuel Lorris and Violet Lucille (Garland) McClaine. She was reared and educated in Lebanon.

She married David L. Martin Sr. on Oct. 28, 1967, in Lebanon. Mr. Martin survives.

In 1969, the Martins moved to Thorntown, where they raised their three children. Judy worked as a consultant for Longaberger Baskets and sold Avon. They moved to Colfax in 2001, where she helped with the family business as the office manager of Broadview Campground.

Mrs. Martin was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed her family and spending time with them. She also enjoyed the friends she made at the campground, her dog Duke, and playing Bingo.

Survivors include her husband, who resides in Colfax; three children, Davey Martin and wife, Lora, Troy Martin and wife, Michelle, and Tracey Alexander and companion, Jerry Tuck, all of Thorntown; seven grandchildren, Tyler Martin, Brittney Martin, Austin Martin, Alexa Martin, Zach Martin, Garrett Alexander and Courtney Alexander, all of Thorntown; brothers, Charles McClaine and wife, Lynn, of Port Byron, Ill., Larry McClaine and companion, Jackie, Harold McClaine and wife, Linda, and Mike McClaine and wife, Teresa, all of Lebanon, Thomas McClaine of Iowa, Marion McClaine and wife, Susan, of Lebanon and Sam McClaine and wife, Janet, of New Ross; and one sister, Susie Maxwell and husband, Larry, of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Martha Osborne, Liz Price, Frances Barrett, Janice Flowers and Vivian Ford; a brother, James D. McClaine; and a granddaughter, Kayla Janel Martin.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Alan Moody officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
