Mr. John N. Gott, 72, of Avon, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Methodist Hospital.
Mr. Gott was born on Jan. 1, 1937, in Crawfordsville, to Owen and Frances Wright Gott.
He graduated from Ladoga High School in 1955 and later joined the U.S. Air Force. He then worked as an airline mechanic for U.S. Air, retiring in 1994. After retiring, he worked at Prestwick Golf Course as a groundskeeper from 2003 to 2008.
Mr. Gott was a Member of the Ladoga Masonic Lodge.
He married Laura Burnside on Jan. 20, 1962, in Crawfordsville; she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Cindy Morgan of Lebanon; two stepchildren, Glenna Haynes of Greensboro, N.C., and Keith Hughes of Temple, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington St., Ladoga. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ladoga Cemetery.
