Julia L. Byrer

1969-2009

Julia L. (Strong) Byrer, 40, of Advance, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Ms. Byrer was born May 21, 1969, in Lafayette. She was the daughter of William Allen Strong and Carol Lucille (Grider) Persinger.

Ms. Byrer resided in Lafayette, Indiana where she attended Jefferson High School. She later attended Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette. She lived in Lafayette until moving to the Lebanon area where she had resided since.

Ms. Byrer worked for Pearson Book Company of Lebanon for two years. She later worked for the State of Indiana in maintenance at the interstate rest stop near Advance.

As a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed her family, took pride in her children and grandchildren. In addition, she enjoyed yard sales and auctions.

She was a member of the Lebanon Eagles and Covenant Fellowship Church in Advance.

Survivors include three sons Mr. Blake A. Strong of Lafayette, and Mr. Brock E. Strong and Mr. Braxton M. Flowers, both of Advance; daughter, Miss Isabella L. Byrer of Advance; mother, Mrs. Carol L. Persinger of Linden; father, Mr. William A. (wife Alice) Strong of Lafayette; sister, Mrs. Candi L. (husband Paul) Sutton of Darlington ; two brothers, Mr. Michael A. (wife Tessa) Strong of Lafayette, and Mr. Phillip Todd Strong (wife Sherry) of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Jaelyn M. Allen of Kirklin, and Victoria G. Strong of Linden; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins

She was preceded in death by brother, Gary William Strong; stepfather, Edward Persinger; and grandparents, Betty R. Vess, William L. Strong and Ed and Lucy Grider.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Memorial services will immediately follow, the Rev. Dennis Woodard officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
