Max Warren Stowers, 72, of rural Kirklin, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Mr. Stowers was born March 29, 1937, in Frankfort, to Oren Lester and Nola Evelyn (Nolan) Stowers. He was a 1955 graduate of Kirklin High School and a lifelong Kirklin resident.
He married Louise Morris on Oct. 26, 1958, in Cleveland, Miss.; she survives.
Mr. Stowers was a dairy farmer. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served from May 1955 to February 1959.
He was a member of Kirklin Christian Church, Kirklin Masonic Lodge, Kirklin American Legion and the Frankfort Elks.
Survivors include his wife, who resides in rural Kirklin; three sons, Alan (Sherry) Stowers and Tim (Karen) Stowers, all of rural Kirklin, and David (Hanna) Stowers of Washington, Ind.; one brother, Mark (Polly) Stowers of Salem; and five grandchildren, Jared, Clayton, Rachel, Elle and Colton Stowers.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Travis and Trent Stowers.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, with a Masonic memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin.
