Anna Louise Rodgers

Mrs. Anna Louise Rodgers, 91, of Lebanon, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 24, 2009, at Parkwood Health Care Center in Lebanon.

A Boone County native and lifelong resident, Mrs. Rodgers was born east of Lebanon on April 9, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Orville and Ruth Carol (Brock) Isenhower.

She was married in Boone County on April 7, 1937, to Buren Eugene Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers died on Sept. 14, 1990.

Mrs. Rodgers was a resident of the Elizaville community, where she and her husband farmed. They moved to Lebanon in 1950, where she had since resided. From 1972 through 1982 she worked in the kitchen as a cook and cashier for Witham Memorial Hospital.

As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she enjoyed her family, took pride in her children and grandchildren and liked to cook and celebrate with them. In addition to her family, she was interested in traveling, liked to play Bingo and always looked forward to dining out.

Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Central Christian Church in Lebanon, and was formerly a member of the Elizaville Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Widows Support Group, Lebanon Senior Citizens and Witham Memorial Hospital Volunteers.

Survivors include three children, Carol J. Thomas and Leslie L. Rodgers and wife, Janet, all of Lebanon, and James E. Rodgers and wife, Heidi Wolff, of Thorntown; one brother, Charles Isenhower and wife, Dora Minnie, of Lebanon; and four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura May Wilson, and three brothers, Chester Isenhower, Donald R. Isenhower and Samuel J. Isenhower.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Raymond Duff officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery west of Lebanon.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
