Tarry “Dale” Rhine

Tarry “Dale” Rhine, 60, of Michigantown, formerly of Clinton County, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at his residence.

Dale was born July 30, 1951, in Clinton County, to Glen A. and Janet (Stewart) Rhine. He graduated from Clinton Central High School in 1969. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Indiana University in 1986.

He married Christine “Kay” Shaff on April 1, 1972; she survives.

Dale was a restaurant manager for several local restaurants, most recently at Papa John’s. He served in the U.S. Army for 12 years, and was a recipient of the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. 

Survivors include his wife, Christine “Kay” Rhine of Michigantown; his mother, Janet Rhine of Noblesville; son, Tarry D. Rhine II of Frankfort; two daughters, Jamie Rhine of Frankfort and Tana Austin of Kirklin; two brothers, Gary (Charlotte) Rhine of Naples, Fla., and Melvin Scott of Michigantown; one sister, Annette (Roger) Spencer of Noblesville; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a twin brother, Larry Dane Rhine.

Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Eagle Harvest Ministries Church, 1380 N. Ind. 39, Frankfort. A memorial service celebrating Dale’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors; envelopes will be available at the church.

Goodwin Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and services.
