Sharon Kay McDaniel

Sharon Kay McDaniel, 74, of Rochester, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center.

Sharon was born on Aug. 2, 1938, in Lebanon, the daughter of Howard and Roxie Gregg Mosebaugh. She married Toby L. McDaniel on Aug. 24, 1957.

She was a 1956 graduate of Lebanon High School. She attended Ball State University and earned an associate of arts degree at San Diego City College. She retired as a real estate agent from Re/Max Professionals in 2010. During her time in real estate, she was inducted into the Realtors Hall of Fame in 2002 and received the Realtor Emeritus Award in 2009, in recognition of more than 30 years in the business. She was also a member of Rochester Christian Church.

Sharon is remembered for her work ethic in serving real estate clients, her people skills, sense of humor, friendliness, infectious laugh, and loving her family and her Lord.

She is survived by her husband, Toby, of Rochester; daughter, Mindy (Joerg) Pflugi of Basel, Switzerland; one grandchild, Finnegan Pflugi; one brother, Tom (Arcie) Biggerstaff of San Angelo, Texas; one sister-in-law, Dwen (Larry) Riggins of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today, March 5, at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Rochester, Ill. The Celebration of Life will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Upchurch officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
