Mr. James David Anderson, 86, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.
He was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Lebanon. He was the son of the late David Earl and Loudella (Wills) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson attended schools in Lindbergh and Whitestown, and then graduated from Lebanon High School in 1944. Following school, he joined he United States Army Air Force, and served his country honorably. In 1950, he graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
He married Donna Mae Hedge on Aug. 2, 1947, at the Browns Wonder Church in Lebanon; she survives.
After obtaining his professional engineering license from the State of Indiana, Mr. Anderson traveled for Viking Pump out of Cedar Falls, Iowa, for 32 years as a manufacturing representative.
He enjoyed his family and friends, as well as traveling and golfing.

He was a member ofAugusta Christian Church in Indianapolis and a past president of the Purdue Alumni Club of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Purdue Forever Club and the Rock Hill Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Donna M. Anderson of Lebanon; daughter, Diana K. (Michael) Gibbs of Indianapolis; two sons, Phil (Marilyn) Anderson and Doyle E. (Tricia) Anderson, all of Medina, Ohio; sister-in-law, Fran Anderson of St. Charles, Mo., four grandchildren, Paul (Tammy) Gibbs of Norman, Okla., Andrew (Jackie) Gibbs of Cincinnati, Ohio, Shawna (Kevin) Busta of Lakewood, Ohio, and Michelle (Javier) Beorlegui of Bradenton, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren, Dustin Gibbs and Christopher Gibbs, both of Norman, Ashton Gibbs and Blake Gibbs, both of Cincinnati, and Brinley Beorlegui and Broden Beorlegui, both of Bradenton.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Anderson and Walter E. Anderson; a sister, Marjorie Heisler; a son, David Paul Anderson; and a grandson, Aaron Anderson.
Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services with military rites will held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Fred Tanselle officiating. Interment will be held at later date at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.
