Mr. James Howard Campbell Sr., 75, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation at Parkwood, Lebanon.
Mr. Campbell was born Oct. 12, 1937, in Madison County, Ala., the son of Ruby May (Williams) Rector and the late James Sailor Campbell.
He attended schools in Alabama. Following school, he joined the United States Army and served his country honorably. He lived in Lebanon, during the 1960s and then moved to Tennessee.
He married Frances Groce on April 7, 1961, in Lebanon; they later divorced.
In 2000, Mr. Campbell moved from Tennessee to Lebanon, where he worked for Triangle Asphalt. Then for a period of time, he was a semi-truck driver.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he enjoyed his family. In addition, he was fond of country and western music.
Survivors include three children, James H. (Wendy) Campbell Jr., of Hollidaysburg, Pa., and Linda L. Dombrosky and James Randy Campbell, both of Lebanon; mother, Ruby M. Rector of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and several siblings, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Mike Goforth officiating. Interment, with military rites, will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
