Joe Buren Hine, 85, of Avon, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
He was a 1946 graduate of Lebanon High School.
Joe worked for Indiana Gas Co., now Vectren, for 40 years, serving in Lebanon for many of those years.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Avon; two children, Dan Hine and Kay Wiley; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Lebanon, and Ruthanna Hamm of Indianapolis.
Joe was a veteran of World War II from 1946-1948.
He maintained fellowship with Harvest Missionary Baptist Church in Avon.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today, July 6, at Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, 4285 E. Main St., Avon. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. today in Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Lebanon.
