Mr. William T. Grissom

Mr. William T. Grissom, 66, Lebanon, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

William T. Grissom was born in Colfax on March 24, 1944. He was the son of the late William Lee Grissom and Lillian Lucille (Benge) Wade. 

He was married in New Brunswick to Theresa Rose (Vansickle) Smith on Sept. 22, 1972, and they later divorced.

He was reared and educated in Boone County, where he graduated from Thorntown High School.

He was a farmer for most of his life and had worked for Joe Neal & Sons Farms in Frankfort for several years.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing cards, going for drives, fishing, and spending time with loved ones.

Survivors include three sons, Mr. Brian L. Grissom and wife, Lisa of Lebanon, Mr. Scott Grissom and wife, Tracy D. of Thorntown and Mr. Boone Hayden and wife, Janet of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Katelynn Grissom, Kaleb Grissom, Jacob Grissom, Emily Grissom, Stacy Hayden, Levi Hayden and Carlee Hayden; two brothers, Mr. Edward Grissom and wife, Pat of Waukegan, Ill., and Mr. James Grissom and wife, Barb of Colfax, and two sisters, Mrs. Barb Delaney of Lafayette and Mrs. Susie Guntle of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.

Cremation will follow the visitation; there will be no services.
