— Jennings R. Furgason, 78, of Lebanon, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 5, 2010. He was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Walcott, Wyo., to the late Ora and Opal (Alter) Furgason. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Furgason. They were married for 57 years.
He was an active member of the Lebanon First Baptist Church where teaching was his joy. He was past Master of Boone County Masonic Lodge No. 9.
After being discharged from the U.S. Navy, J.R. earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wyoming. He later earned his MBA from California State University, and in 2002 earned his PhD. He retired from a successful career in corporate management, which included the position of president of a corporation.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include his daughter, Lori Springman (husband Mark) and son, Jay Furgason (wife Tina), both of Fishers; grandsons Perry Furgason (wife Amy) of Whitestown and Kyle Furgason of Fishers; granddaughter Erin Springman of Fishers; great-grandchildren Christian Rusher and Taylor Furgason of Whitestown; niece, Tracy Glanz and nephew, Skip Seyfang of Worland, Wyo., and nephew, Kris Seyfang of Lawrence, Kan.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Lebanon First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lebanon First Baptist Church, 207 E. Washington St., Lebanon, IN 46052.
