James Robert Otis “Jimmy” Armstrong

Lebanon

Mr. James Robert Otis “Jimmy” Armstrong, 82, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Armstrong was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Hendricks County, the son of the late Otis Lloyd and Mary Jane (Smith) Armstrong.

He worked as a farmhand on a livestock farm until he retired in 1993. He had previously been employed in Lebanon at the Hick’s Body Company and had worked for Russell Scott, building field fences.

Jimmy was a devoted brother, uncle and great uncle who took pride in his family and their activities. He enjoyed fishing, trapping and working on his 1952 Chevy truck.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Ann Wagoner and Janie Culley, both of Lebanon; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Milburn “Bud” Armstrong; and three sisters, June Johnson, Mildred Scott and Dorothy Scott.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Tab Greenlee officiating. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery in Lizton.
