Thomas Richard “Rick” Bass Sr., 65, of Bloomburg, Texas, passed away Nov. 30, 2012.
Rick was born Aug. 5, 1947, in Beebe, Ark., to Thomas and Mary (Culbreath) Bass. He lived in Bloomburg since 1993. He worked as a truck driver, and received the safety award for safe driving. He worked for Ruan Trucking, driving for Nework Paper Board.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Dean Bass; his father, Thomas Faye Bass; his daughter, Janet Bass; and his brother, Danny Bass.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Hendershot) Bass of Bloomburg, who has family in Lebanon; his two sons, Thomas Richard (April) Bass Jr. of Ohio, and Chuck (Christie) Bass of Pine Bluff, Ark.; his grandchildren, Thomas Richard Bass III, Megan Bass and Tyler Bass; his sisters, Ruth (Joe) McClain and Carolyn (Bob) Upshaw of Pine Bluff, Becky (Adam) Harrison of Star City, Ark., and Teresa Bass of Pine Bluff; his brothers, Bobby (Jackie) Bass and David (Tish) Bass of Pine Bluff.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 5th, at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home, Vivian, La. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, Dec. 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dustie Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Good Exchange Cemetery in McLeod, Texas. Pallbearers will be Rex Bloodsworth, Bubba Bass, Butch Bass, Cuck Bass, Deric Tollerson, Roy Davis and Max Hendershot.
