Emma Ruth Breeze

— Ms. Emma Ruth Breeze, 72, of Indianapolis, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.

Emma was born Aug. 13, 1940, in Frankfort, a daughter to the now late Rollie Glen and Dorothy May (Pollard) Harshman. Reared and educated in Lebanon, she graduated from Lebanon High School in 1958.

She was married to Larry Breeze in Lebanon; they later divorced.

Emma had resided in Indianapolis since the mid 1970s. She worked as a secretary for the Riley Foundation Board, the Department of Agriculture in the Stockyard, and also for the Indiana Board of Health.

She had many interests including reading, working puzzles, gambling and traveling.

Emma was a member of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority in Lebanon.

Survivors include three sisters, Mildred Spray and Shirley Sherrill, both of  Lebanon, and Glenda Sue Vinard of Frankfort; four nieces, Rhonda (Chuck) Winkles and Kay Sherrill, all of Lebanon, and Kim (Roger) Clark and Lisa (Tim) Hefling, all of Frankfort; and three nephews, Kerry (Bonnie) Sherrill and Terry (Dorothy) Sherrill, all of Indianapolis, and Jay (Tina) Vinard of Sheridan.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kay Breeze; and three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Spray, Raymond Sherrill and Donald Vinard.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Fred Tanselle officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
