Roy Glass

Mr. Roy Glass, 75, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at his residence.  

Mr. Glass was born Feb. 13, 1937, in Frankfort, a son of John Clayton and Hallie B. (Glover) Glass. Both parents are deceased. He married Jean Ann (Bowman) Glass on March 23, 1957. She died Aug. 5, 2005. Roy married Linda Clanton on Oct. 5, 1997.

Mr. Glass worked for Avco Construction from 1957 to 1972. He was then self-employed in the construction field and enjoyed farming while living in Kentucky. He enjoyed being around family and friends and loved walking the fields with his animals and his dog, Claw, by his side. He mostly enjoyed calling his kids at three or four in the morning — just to ask if they were up yet!

Survivors include his wife, Linda and children: Charles (June-deceased) Glass of Colfax, Debbie and Albert Belcher of Thorntown, David and Robin Glass of Thorntown, Kevin Glass of Crawfordsville, Mary Clements of Thorntown, Donna Stewart of Thorntown, Donald “Butch” Glass of Thorntown, Dorothy and Leland Gibson of Frankfort; Roy Allen “Tate” Glass of Thorntown; Curtis and Tammy Clanton of Advance; Cary and Lisa Clanton of Thorntown, Craig and Tina Clanton of Thorntown; and a brother, Wendall and Betty of Sparta, Tenn.; 39 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean; a daughter, Roberta Glass; a brother, James; a sister, Maxine; and stepdaughter, Cathi Clanton.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Truitt officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.  Mr. Glass will be laid to rest at Bethel Hill Cemetery in Thorntown.
