Marjorie Fae Hollingsworth Christian

Mrs. Marjorie Fae Hollingsworth Christian, 85, of Indianapolis, formerly of Lebanon, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at  Castleton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Indianapolis.

Marjorie was born April 12, 1927, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Constance (Groover) Hollingsworth.

A native of Lebanon, Marjorie graduated from Lebanon High School in 1945. She then attended Indiana University.

She married Robert Thomas “Bob” Christian on Sept. 28, 1946, in Indianapolis. They recently celebrated 66 years together; Mr. Christian survives.

A homemaker nearly all her life, Marjorie was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She was an avid traveler, having been to every state in the United States and to several foreign countries. In addition, she enjoyed learning about British history, shopping and playing Bridge.

She was a member of Psi Iota Xi, Indianapolis, for more than 50 years.

Survivors include her husband, Robert T. “Bob” Christian of Indianapolis; two children, Melissa C. (fiancé, Jerry Randel) Ebert of Lebanon and Terrence W. (Brontë) Christian of Northport, Ala.; one grandson, Matthew Christian (Cassie) Ebert of Tyler, Texas; one great-grandson, Aiden Christian Ebert; and one sister, Marilyn J. (Pete) Irwin of Richmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Steven Lee Ebert; and two grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas Ebert and Holly Kristen Ebert.

Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. today, Nov. 27, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Mr. Terrence W. Christian officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
