Danville — After watching Crawfordsville slow down the tempo and hang with No. 1-ranked Danville in the sectional opener Tuesday, Western Boone came up with a similar gameplan for its match-up with the Warriors Friday night.
Danville’s Tyler Hall had other ideas. The junior hit three 3-pointers in the opening minutes and Danville scored 26 of the first 29 points on its way to a 76-42 victory against the Stars Friday night.
“We wanted to play at our tempo and when you get down 16-3 it is hard to do that,” Western Boone head coach Kyle Spray said. “Hall is a kid that came into the game hitting five 3s on the year and he hits three in the first two minutes and that completely changes the way we want to guard them. We got down big early at that point you can throw your gameplan out the window if you are trying to be patient like we were.”
Danville and Hall came out firing. Hall scored 13 points and Travis Carroll scored six in the run that had Western Boone down more than 20 in the opening six minutes of the game.
