Dover — Western Boone has found a new head coach for its football program.

Jed Richman, who has spent the last five years as an assistant coach at Carmel High School, was named as the Stars’ head coach Monday night at the Western Boone School Board meeting. He replaces Jeff Pearson, who retired in November after 25 years at the helm.

“It is very exciting and a great opportunity,” Richman said Monday night. “Western Boone is a great school system that has a great staff. I couldn’t pick a better place for my first head coaching job.”
