Lebanon — Almost everything went right Monday night for the Lebanon boys’ baseball team in its season debut against Sheridan.
Although the Tigers lost their shut out in the top of the fifth inning, they still won 13-1 (5 innings) to go 1-0 on the season thanks to a solid pitching performance from senior Joel McMasters.
“We were happy with the way Joel McMasters pitched,” Lebanon head coach Rick Cosgray said. “We had talked to him about throwing more to contact and trying to cut down on the walks per outing and I thought he did a good job of that. Offensively we moved the ball well and came up with some clutch hits.”
McMasters last four innings and gave up no runs.
He finished with five strikeouts, three walks and gave up only three hits.
He also saved his best stuff for last.
